Default FOR SALE: Amazing c.1910 Black Team Photo **SOLD**

Posted By: Rhett Yeakley

I have had this item for a while and have always liked it. It is a nice c.1910 photo of a black team, with the initials P.N.I.I. on the shirts of the players. I am not sure exactly what that stands for but one collector I have talked to believes it stands for the Prentice Normal Industrial Institute, a black college of the time in Mississippi. I know nothing of the history of that team, or any of the players that played there.

The photo portion is extremely clear and the details are amazing, equipment laid out in front with one man's hat sitting on a branch above everyones heads. I have included a close up of the players to emphasize the clarity of the image. Size of the mount is roughly 8.5" x 9", with the photo portion measuring roughly 4.5" x 6.5". The photo also has a cover that folds over to protect the image (not seen in scan). Condition is really nice, with no major condition issues present. It ppears this was presented to someone as sombody has written "Sincerely" on the front.

$185.00 shipped or best offer. SOLD
