He is 100% correct. There is no chance that SGC would have graded that with a number. Of course, the flip side to that is that SGC bounces a few thing that are good. A few months back I sent in a few cards. One, (a non-vintage card, 1986 Jordan) was rejected as "Evidence of Trimming." Seeing as how I had opened the pack in 1986, and it had been sitting in a binder ever since, I called to ask about it. The response was, "Well, we didn't say it was trimmed, just that it MIGHT have been."

There is a flip side to each of these issues and this is the price we pay for third party grading.
