And surely Honus knew to get his glove between the runner and the ball. Even Austen Lake, Boston American, knew it, and taught it to Tony Lazzeri in 1935.
Yeah, Tony was on 2nd, but the principle's exactly the same. How much better would Honus have been had he known this little trick, readily available from any Boston sportswriter? He told a Yankee, after all!
