The St. Thomas Elgins are now in the Canadian senior Intercounty Baseball League (see Wikipedia article by that name for detail.) The team has, as far as I can see, no major league alumni, though in the 40s and 50s, several players went on to, or came from, careers in the Negro Leagues. Of special interest in that regard is Stanley "Doc" Glenn who played for the Philly Stars from 1944-1950, and whose contract was then was purchased by the Boston Braves. Glenn went on to play for the Elgins in 1954-55. He is President of the Negro League Baseball Players Association (NLBPA). (See the NLBPA website.) Mr. Glenn wrote "Don't Let Anyone Take Your Joy Away: An inside look at Negro League baseball and its legacy," still available through Amazon.
