Frank, I can only speak for myself, but I started collecting them when I finished my "mainstream" sets and when I could go no further with my 1911 Zeenuts or Pacific Coast Biscuit cards. I needed a set to collect and even though I will never have them all, it looked like a nice looking and interesting set to go after.
