Post a scan of it if you can. There is no surefire way to describe what to look for in a fake because there are fakes that are made from scans of authentic cards and these dont have design differences like a normal reprint does.
If you Google "1952 Topps Mantle" and then hit "images" you will see some nice clear pictures of authentic cards. This is a good tool for checking a card to see if its reprint or not.
