Could be an early Necco product - famous for their wafers candy. Necco stands for New England Confectionery Company. I remember their historic factory in Cambridge, MA still emitting a sweet smell as you drove by up until 2003 when Novartis took the building over. Necco is now in Revere, MA and two other locations.
