Default Philly Show

Posted By: Jeff Mohler

I spent two hours today at the show. I have only been to the show three times now, so I can't comment on whether there were fewer dealers or smaller crowds.

I had a nice chat with Tim Newcomb who happened to author the definitive articles on the "Pens" series in Old Cardboard. I picked up what was an apparently "fresh to the hobby" find of the creamy Canadian wide pens including the Feller, Doerr and Greenberg cards. They were all in pretty nice condition (VG-EX to EX or better). The dealer told me that some "old guy" in his 70-80's brought them by. They were all together in an old yellow glassine envelope.

I also picked up a blank back Bender Pinkerton postcard, which added nicely to my little collection of Pinkertons.
