Computer difficulties can affect any auction house. If your phone line or cable connection goes down in the middle of let's say Mastro or REA, what do you do then? The eBay live failure was an unfortunate problem.
One thing to do with any live auction house is to schedule phone bids in advance. Phil had 6 or 7 phone lines going on some of his lots, but only a couple on the baseball stuff. Even if you had to leave your house to do something else because of the delays yesterday, most people have a cell phone, and you could have bid, even if you were elsewhere.
