J LevineWell...this reminds me of a couple of things...first off, I enjoy my cards on many levels including feel and smell (stale tobacco and bubble gum is nearly heaven). My favorite thing to do when it is rainy out is go into one of my favorite old card stores. Something about the weather and damp air brings out the smell of the cardboard and gum. Yummm...
About five years ago I had a student who was blind. One of the things I used to give as prizes in my classroom was newer junk baseball cards ('91 Fleer, '90 Topps, etc.). Louie would take the card I would spell the name for him and he would put it in his braillewriter and write the players name in braille right on the card. He loved getting them.
