Default For the true Cono-Sewer: What do you look for in a Beater?

Posted By: Al C.risafulli

Jason, I don't remember. It's an umpire card; I keep it in a cabinet with the part of my collection that's not in "heavy rotation" that's currently blocked by boxes of other stuff. So I can't get to it. I want to say Hank Soar. Does that make sense?

I actually have two of those because I bought two packs for $100 each that day. The other one is a Lew Burdette, if I'm not mistaken, but it's not nearly as bad as this one. Almost all the cards in both packs had some degree of water damage, the water caused the gum to rot and get nasty and powdery. After all these years I've sold off most of the cards and one of the wrappers, but kept the nasty gum cards because they're so cool.

The card is much more gross in your hand than it appears in the scan.
