My T206 Walter Johnson card graded much lower than I
expected, simply because there happens to be an almost
un-noticeable faint indication of "glue smear" on its
back. When I questioned the SGC grader about this, he
pointed it out to me under magnification.



So, my advice before you do anything, is if you can get
GAI (I know for that they preview a card for $5), or any
other Grading service, to give you an opinion before you
attempt to remove the tape. It's tricky business to undo
taped cards.
