identify7I just don't see it. Yes, real music has staying power. But I remember when these narrow shouldered, buster brown haircut, pencil necked performers first appeared here. And I recall the cultural impact of their wisdom:
In the town where I was born
Lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his life
In the land of submarines
So we sailed off to the sun
Till we found a sea of green
And we lived beneath the waves
In our yellow submarine
Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes.
Cellophane flowers of yellow and green,
Towering over your head.
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes,
And she’s gone.
Lucy in the sky with diamonds.
Timothy Leary had cultural impact. These guys are more forgettable than Wayne Terwilliger.
Come on now. Jazz may survive. But song lyrics alone are less interesting than poetry.
