Default Some specific grading questions

Posted By: Glenn

Both are factory miscuts. As a rule miscuts do lower the grade/value of the card, but I wouldn't worry too much for these cards. The Cobb has what's called a diamond cut; this does negatively impact the value of the card, but only by a small percentage. The way the Joss is miscut, with the name appearing on top, will turn away some collectors but is actually considered a desirable characteristic by others. I wouldn't necessarily say that it improves the value of the card, and certainly not the grade, but the negative impact should be fairly minor.
