Daniel BrettaMy guess is that Jackson was just as admired in the North as he was the South at the time, and especially in Ohio where he played for the Indians. It may not have been the reverence that he and Ty Cobb recieved from Southerners, but I doubt he would have felt the need to hide his name when playing for the Mark team. It also seems likely that the Mark team which had a stadium big enough for over 4,000 fans would have wanted him to use his real name.
