The market for high grade commons is all over the map.

In the last Memory Lane Auction, someone payed $21 k for a '34 Goudey common in PSA 9. A PSA 10 '52 Topps Pafko sold for $75+ k. Maybe you could flip this card for $15 k next week. Who's to say.

I'd rather own a card that has a long history of being rare (i.e. T206 Plank). Instead of rarity based on the minute difference of a 9 and a 10.
