BASEBALL AUTOGRAPHED LETTERS

Cubs pitcher Tex Carleton (died 1977) signed handwritten 1935 letter to Cubs owner Phillip K.Wrigley, with original file copy of Wrigley’s 2-page letter to Carleton. Concerns Carleton’s contract negations. Carelton’s about 9x7” stationary has a small chip and folding lines. His ink neat handwriting is mint. Ex-Mike Gutierrez$50

1951 Johnny Vander Meer signed handwritten 2 page (8x10”) letter to the Cubs, with original carbon copy of Cubs letter to Vander Meer. Concerns contract dispute ($$), with both sides making their case. Vander Meer’s letter is on family stationary with mint handwriting and signature. Ex-Mike Gutierrez$50

1930s-40s New York Giants baseball player Tony Freitas autographed c. 1990 letter on about 7x4” writing stationary. Great baseball content, as me mentions winning 20 games for Stockton of the California League and receiving a car by the Stockton fans. Handwriting including signature is in mint black ink. The paper has mailing fold lines and other minimal wear. Displays well. Ex-Lelands $20

(9) different old timer signed handwritten short letters and notes, including 1940s players. Includes Cy Bunker (initialed), Paul Hoytak (signed ‘Paul’), Stan Williams (also includes a small Williams signed picture), Dick Brodowski (signed ‘Dick’), Howard ‘Doc’ Edwards (signed ‘Doc’), Ernie Harwell (Tigers’ HOF Announcer), Ed Stevens (1940s Dodgers, replaced by Jackie Robinson in 1947) and Hank Taylor (1940s) … Almost all have GREAT baseball content, as the players reminisce about the game and their favorite moments—Yankee Stadium, Bobby Thomson’s HR, comments on today’s players … All were written and addressed to single elderly man in Florida. Handwriting is mint, some were written on the back or at the bottom of the collector’s letter$75

1958 silver plated trinket box awarded to NBA’s Philadelphia Warriors head coach and 1940s NBA player George Senesky. Name and date engraved on the top. Silver has tarnishing and wear and tear. Intact and presents nicely. Ex-Senesky Estate and Hunts Auction $30

(9) 1950s-80s MLB, NFL and NBA team Christmas/Holiday cards. Official cards sent by the team to VIPs, like other team executives, major advertisers, the press. High quality and creative productions by the Chicago White Sox, Atlanta Braves, Saint Louis California Angels, NFL’s St. Louis Cardinals, Denver Broncos (team picture printed inside), Denver Nuggets and the NFL Hall of Fame Museum. Grade VgEx-ExMt. Display well$35

Thirteen (13) different baseball old timers personal business and calling cards cards. Neat collection includes Ray Partee, Red Murff, Lenny Yochim, Cletus Boots Poffenberger (1930s player). After playing days jobs, incuding scout, businessman, etc. Most grade Ex to ExMt, a couple lesser. One back has the player’s handwritten note $25
