PeterPCy Young won 511 games and was consistently great across the pre-modern and modern eras. Were his numbers beefed up a bit by the way the game was played at the time? Sure. But why is he the only man with 500 wins, and one of only two with 400 wins? Surely there would be several others with numbers close to his. But there really aren't any.
Overrated? Fine. I disagree, but a valid point. 'Most' overrated? No way.
