Can't help myself... Was thinking Charlie Pride and Henry Ford myself.

To be honest, though, I'd have to go with your first impression, a homey sort of picture postcard, couple of average Joes who enjoyed America's pastime. Actually a cool Americana piece in its own right, but I don't personally believe its Hal. Never seen a pic of him in civvies though, but it'd have to be a massive coincidence if so.
