paul muchinskyI fully agree these are homemade pins. To me, the more interesting question is when were these pins made, and how were they made? Modern pinmaking presses don't typically have 7/8" dies. The technology for a person to create such a pin didn't exist 100 years ago. That narrows the range of options. I will clearly vote for homemade, with the caveat they weren't made in anyone's home. I'd say somebody had a friend who worked at a pinmaker like Whitehead and Hoag, and these were run as a favor to the friend.
