RhysThe larger oversized stereoview mounts usually date to the mid 1870's and you find a lot of centennial exposition photos on that larger format (taller than a normal stereoview) so I would place the age at about 1872 at the VERY earliest to about 1882 or so. The team is most likely not significant as it was a Vermont photographer and he mentions Vermont scenery in the photo. I cant think of a single prominant team from Vermont even in the pre-professional days. It is still a nice photo and a great early stereoview. I was watching it and was planning on bidding up to about $300 but not nearly at the level it ended at. It is a nice item though.
