Default Populations of vintage cards

Posted By: leon

I would have to agree with you on scarcity of the obscure issues. As a die hard type collector (although not technically one as I do have multiples from series I enjoy) it is very difficult to find a lot of the cards you mentioned. I do own one of the Oakland Oaks cards as well as my good friend , and board member-JC. I also have been luckey enough to acquire the only 2 Holmes to Homes Bread cards I have ever seen. You want scarcity? How many Western Playgrounds has all of the board members combined ever seen for sale? For me the answer is 1 (from a private offer from Mark Macrae around a year ago) Now about the blue Old Put I won in the Sloate auction....first one I have seen with that background, anyone else seen one?.....and one last thing...I thought the Lorillad card went for more than it should have on ebay. I paid about 1800 for a fairly nice one about 3 yrs ago in a regular auction. And I thought my snipe of about 1k was going to get it oh well.....
