DavidThey are pictures scissor cut out of old basbeall guides or similar publications and presented deceptively as cards. In reality they are worth essentially nothing-- for the same reason that the Mike Piazza picture I cut out of today's Seattle Times would worth nothing.
To save you future heartache, I strongly recommend you never buy cards in NASA, AAA or PRO holders. Also, until you are very experienced, never buy a card that is not listed in the Standard Catalog of Baseball Cards (Krause Publications) or the Beckett Baseball Card Almanac.
Despite what they claim, all knowledgeable collectors and dealers have learned by the way of hard knocks, so consider this a $280 learning experience.
