Inaccuracies in the SGC T205 population report
A recent thread asked about the PSA and SGC T205 population reports, and SGC was identified as having brand identification as compared to PSA not identifying T205 brands on their label.
It inspired me to check out the SGC T205 population report. Being the type of fellow I am, I noted the following odd listings within their Master T205 report, many of which involve odd add-on descriptions.
T205 listings that include T206 pose variation descriptions:
Bell Sweet Caporal - pitching follow through
Bergen Piedmont - catching
Bridwell Sweet Caporal - hands in air
Brown Sweet Caporal - Chicago on shirt
Chance Piedmont - batting
Chase Sweet Caporal - holding trophy
Chase Sweet Caporal - throwing, dark cap
Doolan Sweet Caporal - batting
Doyle Sweet Caporal - portrait
Doyle Sweet Caporal - with bat
Leifield Sweet Caporal - batting
McGraw Sweet Caporal - portrait with cap
McIntire Sweet Caporal - Brooklyn + Chicago
McIntire Piedmont - Cubs
Mullin Sweet Caporal - with bat
Overall Piedmont - hands waist level
Reulbach Sweet Caporal - no glove showing
Rucker Sweet Caporal - throwing
Schlei Sweet Caporal - batting
Snodgrass Sweet Caporal - catching
Most of the above have a population of just 1 or 2. Has anyone seen/have any of these graded cards? Are the cards actually T205 with just the obviously wrong T206 descriptions on the label? Or are they T206 cards that are misidentified as T205? Or are they just errors within their report?
The following are the other errors I found in the SGC listings:
Bergen Sweet Caporal - full 'B' on cap (identification is actually for Barger variation)
Ewing Honest Long Cut - both ears show (identification used on various other T205 variation cards)
Grorge Graham American Beauty Rustlers (obvious misspelling)
Hummell Piedmont - 'Hummel' in description (is this an unknown to me variation?)
Pfiester Sweet Caporal (looks like 29 perhaps slipped through before they caught their error)
Stanage Polar Bear - Football Highlights (oops!)
Wiltse Piedmont - only left ear shows (instead of right)
Wiltse Polar Bear - only left ear shows (instead of right)
There, my typing of baseball player names has been accomplished for today. If you have any of these or any thoughts, please share.
