All this conversation recently regarding the T206 Plank card makes me wonder if it is time to sell mine
It definitely is a nicer looking image than many of them out there. It is graded an "A", because all four corners were restored.
That's no problem for me. What really matters is this Plank completes my all
SWEET CAPORAL Factory #30 set (468 cards).
Using a magnifier on this Plank card, I noticed an interesting pattern in it's blue ink background. The entire background
consists of a very fine diagonal grid formation. Due to the plastic, my scanner doesn't clearly reveal this pattern on the
Plank card.
So, for an example of this pattern, I scanned an ungraded Jordan card having this identical pattern. Look closely, you'll
see what I'm describing. In my PIEDMONT, SOVEREIGN, and SWEET CAP sets, this pattern on blue background cards in
the 150/350 Series is not consistent. Some have it, and others do not.
I hope our resident printing expert chimes in here and explains to us why there is such a difference in these "blue back-
ground cards".
