Thanks Jay (t206kid)! Note: the colors appear shifted a little to blue in this scan. This is a result of scanning a slabbed card. Ungraded cards scan beautifully with true colors, but I still can't figure out how to accurately represent a slabbed card in my scans. PVC 6"x9" top loaders are even more bluish, the cards look just plain bad in them. Part of cracking out my T3's is so that I can see what their true colors actually look like. I need acrylic top loaders!!

Update: after I posted this, I did a little research into absorption spectra of PVC. Lower frequency light (red end of visible spectrum) is more readily absorbed than higher frequency. So I increased red in the color balance, and the card actually looks a lot more true to life now. Here is the result. Sorry for the double post, but I thought this might help someone now or in the future. FYI, acrylic has wonderfully flat and low absorption across visible wavelengths, which is why it's so popular. Polycarbonate is another good choice, a lot tougher than acrylic though not quite as optically clear. Does anyone know what polymer is used by PSA for their holders? Whatever it is, it needs to be tough enough to the survive the ultrasonic welding process.
