FOR SALE: MICKEY COCHRANE Complete a two-page handwritten letter dated Feb 16th, 1945 to his wife when he was in the Navy. Signed with his first name only "Mike" Letter is in sensational condition with outstanding personal content. The bottom right portion of the 2nd page is trimmed slightly but does not affect the body of the letter. Two pages measure 6x10. Mentions how lonely he is and how he waits daily for her letters and is in the process of trying to get stationed closer to her. He says if anyone asks how I'm doing tell them "It Stinks" Also mentions his making bracelets to send to his daughters. Considered one of baseball's greatest catchers he played for the 1925-33 Athletics and the 1934-37 Tigers he won the MVP award in 1928 and 1934. Inducted into the Baseball Hall Of Fame in 1947 he died in 1962. $350.00
