Default Carl Hubbell...Softball? Question...

So, there I was already with $200 spent on X-Mas gifts and other finds, when I figure, what the hell, I'll ask the store clerk to go ahead and open this one last case just so I can see this $40 softball that all I can see is basically this..

1st pic
Flip open the box (with a c1923 $.10 stamp still on it), take out the ball, and this is what I find.

I took the ball to the counter, ran to my truck to get my jewelers eye to examine it...I was/am 95% sure it was either printed on the ball at the time of manufacter or stamped after the fact...

but for $40, I figured it was worth it anyway...thoughts?

The date on the postmark isn't readable if it was ever date stamped at all...I can't seem to locate any websites as handy as Keyman baseball dating when it comes to softball dating, so I don't know if the dates match up at all...all I've found out is the woman the ball is addressed to was born in 1929, the address it is shipped to doesn't include a zip code, and the aforementioned c1923 Monroe .10 stamp
