While I have not seen this one, it is the same size and similar in appearance to ones I have seen that were associated with new events, and/or newpapers. However, those usually had some sort of paper attached to the bottom with the description of the photo or photos. They were a form of advertising. I had several pertaining to the 1912 World Series, and have seen others from later time periods.
