("Genuine" in the sense that they were issued by the team, and had the team made it the ticket would have been valid for entry to the game. That fans are not required to return the tickets to get a refund for unplayed games is a good thing, because it allows the tickets to remain in private hands and the individual collector to decide if it's something he wants to add to his collection.)

And, yes, phantom World Series ticket also allow a fan a chance to dream... a chance to play "what if"...
