Well not exactly 'historic,' but a strange coincidence nonetheless. The first major league game I attended was on July 2, 1960, at Griffith Stadium. My family had traveled up from Norfolk on vacation.
Appearing in that game were the only two major leaguers to have attended my high school. Chuck Stobbs (Washington) and Hank Foiles (Cleveland) had been battery-mates at Granby High School during the mid-40s, around 20 years before my time.
