I attended many games in old Bush Stadium as a kid. It was a great park, with the teepee in center field. The concourse underneath the stands was just like that of Wrigley or Fenway today. So simple and cool.

Also witnessed many state championships by my high school in that park - in the age before Indiana went to a class system and ALL 400+ schools played for one trophy. My favorite was 1979, when I was nine years old, and I witnessed my high school (Logansport) end the 58-game winning streak of Evansville Memorial in the state championship game. The losing pitcher was a guy named Don Mattingly. My school had won the title in '77 and Mattingly's team won it in '78 (undefeated) and came within one game of repeating in '79.

Great memories.
