Default Ted Williams Day Folder From Fenway 5/12/91 Signed By Williams And 4 Others

This is a wonderful item and truly a rare piece for any Red Sox or Ted Williams collector. The piece is a folder that was given out at Fenway Park on May 12, 1991. The folder commemorates Ted Williams and his accomplishments, as on that day a ceremony was held in his honor before the game was played. At the ceremony, Williams famously tipped a Red Sox cap to the fans at Fenway, honoring them as he famously did not after his final at bat there in 1960.

The folder has been signed by Williams and four of his former teammates who were in attendence that day. They are Johnny Pesky, Eddie Popowski, Charlie Wagner and Dom DiMaggio. The folder is quite large, measuring approximately 12x15 inches. The Williams signature is pretty big as well, measuring out to 4 1/4 inches long!

The item comes with an auction LOA from JSA.

Now about the elephant in the room. Although the entire piece received the auction LOA, it is believed that the Joe DiMaggio signature is not authentic. Joe was in a tremendous rush that day and basically arrived, talked to noone, did the ceremony, and immediately left for the airport, making his signing the piece at the event unlikely. The signature also does not look like it was done carefully at a sit down event, so the piece is being sold as if the Joe D is not authentic, even though JSA seems to think otherwise.

Asking $160 delivered.
