First bound edition of the Sport Americana Baseball Card Price Guide No. 1 by Beckett and Eckes (1979). First commercially printed edition of the baseball card price guide that later led to the Beckett empire.

In good condition with square tight binding. Some wear to edges and very slight toning from age but overall a nice copy.

Also in same lot you get the Sports Collectors Bible (1975) by Bert Randolph Sugar. This guide pre-dated the Beckett guide and was more comprehensive, spanning the whole memorabilia spectrum. In the back of the book is a directory of collectors including their interests. Lots of hobby legendary names in there as well as a young Keith Olbermann, who lists his Cornell dorm address and interests in "BB cards, NY Yankees items".
