there is an ebay bat guide that says that but if you look at H&B catalogs from the period it tells you the S bats were made for teenage boys.
Just use some logic, what manufacture would advertise one of their bats by saying, "this product uses inferior wood"
H&B made 125 Pro Bats which were made of the finest woods available
The made store model bats that had wood that didn't live up to the Pro standards down to their Little League Models and as such adjusted their prices
