Default Anatomy of a Bad SF Giants Fake Jersey Circa 1984

In the midst of making the painful decision to sell off a bunch of my collection to pay down debt I started going through my game used stuff. I came across a jersey I've had since the early 1980s.

This piece was originally purchased from a rather infamous name in uniform collecting circles who was based in Northern California. At the time I was really just learning about game used stuff so the bad year tag didn't stand out to me.

The jersey was sold as a Frank Robinson. In retrospect there were so many red flags but I also think I may have got it cheap or traded for it.

The jersey is likely a legitimate Joe Strain from 1979 or 1980.

The 25th year patch is also real.

The "Robinson" name plate is also real - however I can't be sure if it was a Frank Robinson name plate (1981-84) or Jeff Robinson (1984).

At the time Dick Dobbins was selling game used things for the Giants. It's probably that the dealer bought the pieces from him and put them together himself (I later learned that guy had a sporting goods store - did uniform lettering and such).

The size should have been a giveaway too. Frank Robby is a big man. He's wear at least a 44, especially by the time he was a manager.

Does anyone thing that a Franken-uni like this has any value to a collector? Should I remove the "good" parts and sell those off?
