Hey Guys,
I entered this item into the Mears auction ending in a week. It is a 35" Adirondack 288C Team Index "Mantle Type" bat showing heavy use. Fitting all of the Mick's specs and used in 1968 (Mantle's last season), I think it has tremendous historical value. It is graded MEARS authentic with an LOA and the auction description describes it as game used. Here is a great article on team index bats by Dave Grob of MEARS that specifically references Mantle and the Yankees' consistent practice of ordering team index bats for its players:
