I'm working on a custom card of John Kennedy, the first black player on the Phillies. He lied terribly about his true age to appear a better prospect. I'm looking for the birthdate that would have appeared on the Phillies roster as it was printed in the April, 1957, issue of Baseball Digest.

It's pretty well accepted now that his true DOB was Oct. 12, 1926. I figure the date given in the magazine would be his "baseball age" as it would have appeared on a card back then.

Back issues of BBD used to be available on Googlebooks, but for a month or so now, that feature has been down.
