Mike Berkus spoke at the dinner this year and covered this topic in detail. To summarize:

- the dealers vote on where they want the show to be held
- many convention centers will *not* book consumer shows (as opposed to trade shows)
- many convention centers will not book shows 4 years in advance, which is what the NSCC wants to do
- some convention centers require union workers to do the setup work, which increases the costs for the NSCC
- a convention center has to have enough contiguous space on a single floor to hold the NSCC

The options are limited.
