How tough is the Greenburg error card in the Diamond Star series??

Posted By: Jim Manos
I have a client wanting to sell me one but am not sure how tough a card this really is?? Is it comparable to the Hermansk in the 48 Leaf series. Thanks in advance for any insight...

Posted By: Rhett Yeakley
Ted, you are our resident expert on the 1949 Leaf (notice I didn't say 1948!)set, so while we are on the subject, I was wondering about the Aberson short vs. long sleeves and the Kent Peterson black vs. red cap. Which of the variations on each is the tougher one in your opinion, and by what kind of margin/ratio would you suspect? I have a little experience with this set but have seen varying reports/opinions when it comes to these two cards.
-Rhett

Posted By: Ted Zanidakis
The Aberson short vs. long sleeves is the less tougher of the 3 printing variations in the 1949 Leaf BB set.
Here are my experienced "guesstimates" on the availability ratio of these three cards......

Aberson long sleeves vs short = 20 to 1.....(not sure which press run this variation occured in)

Hermanski vs Hermansk = 500 to 1......(Hermansk was very short-printed in the 1st press run)

Kent Peterson black cap vs. red cap = 50 to 1......(the Red Cap version was short-printed in later press run)

Hope this helps,

TED Z

How tough is the Greenburg error card in the Diamond Star series??

Posted By: Anonymous
I've seen a few over the years. I have both versions shown here. Neither is for sale or trade and they are the same size. The variance is in the scanning and cropping.
