Posted By: <b>Frank Wakefield</b><p>A really great source of information is The Encyclopedia of Baseball Cards Volume 3, by Lew Lipset. This volume of work by Mr. Lipset is vital to understanding early 20th century tobacco issues. So really try to find that.<br /><br />The big Standard Catalog has a good listing of the T210 cards in the back in the old minor league section.<br /><br />Joe Jackson in series 8 and Casey Stengel in series 6 would be the very difficult cards, financially. <br /><br />This that follows are some thoughts of mine that some folks might not share (or care): The cards from series 8 and series 6 are the most difficult, for slightly different reasons. Series 7 cards are close behind 8 and 6. Cards from series 2 are the easiest to locate, with series 1 and 3 very close behind. Over the past few years of watching these cards, I tend to see very few 7s and 8s and when I do see an 8, it is usually one of the easier examples from the set (Fischer, Bayless, Perdue, etc.).<br /><br />Also, series 4 and 5 cards are a bit underrated for their rarity, in my opinion. Series 5 contains possibly the most difficult cards in the entire set, I know many set collectors need it and it was the last card needed to complete a collector’s set last year.<br /><br />I completed the second series earlier this summer and had a fun time doing it. In general, the cards were affordable and collecting them was a decent challenge. Despite their availability, there are certainly two very challenging cards in the set (Levy and Zimmerman).<br /><br />Zach <br /><br /><br /><br />

I have heard many arguments for one over the other, but they are both hard to come by. Series 7 as pointed out, is very difficult, too, especially the Kelly (mascot) card, which I would love to see on the open market. It would be a real frenzy. <br /><br />Even the more common series' can yield some tough finds as Zach pointed out. Besides the ones he mentioned, I know several people that would be on the hunt for a Series 5 Benny (myself included) and this is in one of the more "common" series. But, man, oh man, what a fun card! It is a fun set whether you collect by Series or city. Posted By: <b>Dwight</b><p>Many tough cards in this huge set. I agree with Zach as well. Series 5 is underrated in terms of rare cards. Many of you may know I've been searching for a particular Series 5 card for about 30 years. I am beyond frustrated, yet continue to be intrigued by the mystery. Why is this card unique? He was a career minor league player and not well known outside the southeast. Only a handful of collectors are known to have the card and only about 50 are estimated to exist. Can this be explained perhaps by a broken plate? Or is his card and other rare T210s still tucked away in someone's attic, yet to be discovered?
