T206 SURVEY..Broad Leaf 460..show or tell ?

Posted By: Ted Zanidakis
There are a possible 64 subjects in the 350/460 Series that can be found with a BROAD LEAF 460 back.....
Also, I've observed that a high probability of the existence of a BL 460 on any of these subjects appears
to be correlated to them also having a Red HINDU back. However, I'm not exactly sure how this correlates.

To my knowledge, the 46 (of the 48) cards in the 460-only Series are not found with BL 460 backs. Kleinow
(Boston) and Smith (Chi & Bos) are the exceptions. Someone can correct me, if this observation is incorrect.

The following 29 cards have been confirmed with BL 460 backs......

Baker
M. Brown (Chi)
Burch (fldg)
Cobb (red)................super print
Cobb (bat off)
Davis (A's)
Dougherty (arm in air)
Downey (bat)
Elberfeld (Wash-fldg)
Evers (bat-yellow sky).....super print
Griffith (bat)
Johnson (pitch)
Joss (pitch)
Kleinow (Boston)
Konetchy (glove low)
Mathewson (dark cap).........super print
McIntyre (Brooklyn & Chi)
Mullin (bat)
Murphy (bat)
O'Leary (hds on knees)
Reulbach (no glove)
Rucker, throw)
Seymour (throwing
Snodgrass (catch)
Stahl (glove)
Street (catch)
Sweeney (fldg)
Willis (throw)
Cy Young (glove)

Can we add a few more to this list....show or tell us about your Broad Leaf 460 cards ?

No 350's please....we did that in a prior Thread.

Edited to add Baker to the list.

TED Z

T206 SURVEY..Broad Leaf 460..show or tell ?

Posted By: Ted Zanidakis
There are 6 subjects in the T206 issue that have been printed with more T-brand backs than any
of the other 518 subjects. Additionally, the unique aspect of these 6 cards is that while they are
in the 350/460 Series, they can also be found with American Beauty 350 (Frame) backs. This is not
possible for the 56 other cards in this Series.

These 6 subjects are......

Chance (yellow portrait)

Chase (blue portrait)

Chase (dark cap)

Cobb (red portrait)

Evers (bat/yellow sky)

Mathewson (dark cap)

TED Z

Posted By: Ted Zanidakis
MIKE..cardtarget

Thanks for the HR Baker input. This card, too, has a Red HINDU back. Also, Baker appears on 18
differemt T-backs and is very comparable with the 6 super-prints.

I know these BL 460 are scarcer than hen's teeth....but, there must be more of them out there.

Let's hear from you ?

TED Z

Posted By: Jim Dale
Thanks for the heads up on the super prints - always cool to learn something new....I'm eager to see the Doolan come back as authentic as it would add one to the list.

T206 SURVEY..Broad Leaf 460..show or tell ?

Posted By: Ted Zanidakis
I think this Doolan card will be graded a "1".......no one in their right mind would go to the trouble of "phonying-up" a card
of this type or condition. All the fakes (re-backs, etc.) that we have seen involve star cards. Counterfeiters don't print $1
bills, they do the 20, 50, or 100 dollar denominations.

Assuming this Doolan is legit, then we have 30 confirmed Broad Leaf 460 cards....or approx. 50% of the possible subjects.
Not too bad for starters....when I did the Red HINDU survey, all we got was 40% of the possible T206 candidates.

TED Z
