What Size is an E121 Supposed to be?

Posted By: Kevin Andrews
I'm getting ready to send in some E121 (Series of 80) cards to be graded and started wondering about the question of exactly what size are they supposed to be. The Standard Catalog tells me that the should be 2" x 3-1/4" but on the Old Cardboard site they say 2" x 3-3/16". Within the 60+ cards that I have overall size varies greatly. While I have some cards that I truly believe are trimmed there are others I'm just not sure about. I'd like some opions on the cards shown below. Would SCG apply a grade to these or will they comeback as A - Authentic.

Max Carey - Measures 2-1/32" x 3-7/32"

Bill Donovan - Measures 2" x 3-5/32"

Urban Faber - Measures 2" x 3-7/32"

John McGraw - Measures 1-31/32" x 3-7/32"

Were the size of the cards varied to meet insertion into the American Caramel products? How were the packaged anyway?

In most cases the cards were made that way and not trimmed. I can't tell you for sure how SGC will grade them, that is why I don't grade mine. Your cards look fine to me-

Matt

Grading most likely would help, but as stated above there are a few different sizes explained above from some of the guides. Experience and looking at many of these cards help as well

Jimmy
I really thought the Donovan card would come back as "Authentic".
