Baseball Reference Books

Posted By: chris
Hi all,

I am looking for a baseball encyclopdia of sorts...a book that has a bio on nearly every major league there was. Any suggestions would be very helpful... I was at Borders the other day and say a baseball encycolpedia which really only had stats.

thanks!

Posted By: craig
i have one that is called The Ballplayers: baseball's ultimate biographical reference. i think that it is a SABR book. the book inclubes info on players who had: 1950-present 500 at-bats or 100 innings, 1920-50 750 ab or 250 ip, 1900-20 1000 ab or 500 ip. dont know what they used for the inclusion of players from the 1800s. it is a great book full of great stories on players and their #s.

here is a link to a copy on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/The-Ballplayers-Ultimate-Huge-Baseball-Stat-Book-1st_W0QQitemZ260037196235QQihZ016QQcategoryZ378QQs sPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
