Because I can not manually knock it out of place, With out breaking the holder. Has anyone else had this sort of problem. I guess I need A psa membership to send it in. Gee I hope it is not damadged. At that angle, the top and bottom edges are most susceptible to dings when used as a puck by the USPS night shift. The edge that has slid beneath the gasket looks okay.

Posted By: mark t
Just be safe and send it back to PSA. if you keep banging the slab on the edge of a table you will ruin the card. By the way , was it sent usps or UPS. If it was USPS then i can see how they would be throwing it around at the warehouse and laughing.

Problems with PSA holder and t206 card

Posted By: Anonymous
I haven't done alot of banging the card just a few times to confirm what my postion is. I have a stuck card. This was sent by UPS. In a 8x8 or 10x10 cardboard box with 12 others. Padding was newspaper wrapped around the items The card looks like it hasn't been damaged. However I only have a problem with 1 out of the 13 cards. I chose not to contact the dealer since I paid a fair price and this is something I can fix. Also no return policy on slabs. However I may advise him that he can buy bubble wrap to protect future shipments. You can get it in bulk rolls for cheap at STAPLES. I believe this may have happened in shipping. No reason to drag a seller through the mud or nothing and I love the card =)

Posted By: Frank Wakefield
It would look best if disenterred from the plastic crypt. I'd hacksaw him out and get rid of the slab. Then there would be no problem with how he sits in there. No postage costs or letters or phone calls. A hacksaw solves all problems.

Problems with PSA holder and t206 card

Posted By: Judge Dred (Fred)
Just pry the top and bottom half apart carefully. After centering the card use a little glue and put the two halves together and you're done... holy crap, I just had a great idea. I know how to make money by doing that. I could put sub standard cards in the higher grade holders and make a mint doing so... is this an original thought? I remember "when it was a hobby" that nobody would have even thought about doing such a thing.

Just send it back to PSA and eat the shipping costs both ways or hold on to it until the next show you attend where PSA is on-site slabbing cards.

Edited to add - or do what was recommended by others - send it to SGC.

Posted By: T206Collector
You say "disenter the card from the plastic crypt," I say preserve the card's excellence in a manner which presents the card most favorably -- SGC!

Problems with PSA holder and t206 card

Posted By: ErlandStevens
Could you maybe squeeze the holder a bit while knocking it on the left side? Pressure on the sides might cause the top and bottom plates to separate just enough to let the card slide free.

BTW, I'm almost certainly in the minority here (and my cards almost all raw), but I like the way the PSA slabs look more than SGC.

Posted By: Anonymous
I think thats exactly what happened. it was a stack of holders when shipped. I personally like the psa look but don't really care either way. I don't collect GAI or BVG though.

Posted By: sagard
Fashion a pad for the left edge of the PSA holder. Then demonstrate your authority over the card and holder. Sadly I'm speaking from experience, but it was a success.

I recommend holding the bottom edge between your thumb and forefinger and using a whipping action. You gotta want it!

Problems with PSA holder and t206 card

Posted By: fkw
Now If I had that cockeyed card in that slab, Id bang the sh*t out of it,...... top left corner on a phone book or something not so hard. If the slab cracked so be it, Id then send it to SGC to cross over. Or break it out and keep it raw. Remember its a 3 with corner rounding, not a sharp cornered 8, so it would be tough to knock it down to a 2 unless you creases it or chipped it.

But thats just me.

IMO
PSA slabs look good ONLY IF the slab is made for that card and hold it securely. Not put in some penny sleeve and floating all over the place looking all crappy and cockeyed. Ive seen so many multithousand dollar high grade cards sitting is oversized PSA slabs, it is no wonder the corners on these high grade cards dont get dinged more often.

SGC doesnt have this problem, because the slabs (black inserts) are custom cut for each card.

Problems with PSA holder and t206 card

Posted By: Anonymous
I've learned more things and like Sgc better than PSA =) nothing else. This is solely because SGC fits your card better than PSA.

My card definately will not be removed from the gasket. I'm almost thinking it may be marked now. there seems just to be some serious pressure on the top corner right. I will not crack it out because of that.
