Mayo Cut Plug Paraphernalia Question

Posted By: davidcycleback
Yes. For card collectors, vintage items relating to the cards are collected. This includes packs, tobacco lunch pails, advertising signs, etc. Many card collectors like to have related-card items to display with their cards.

Mayo Cut Plug Paraphernalia Question

Posted By: Jon Canfield
Greg - Yes it does have value and they are desireable, especially in nice condition (vibrant blue paint, little rust, etc.) If you go to the "cigarette pack" portion of my website, you can view a whole section dedicated to cigarette and tobacco packs that once held baseball cards...

http://www.pride.hofstra.edu/~JCANFI1/cigarette.htm

Mayo Cut Plug Paraphernalia Question

Posted By: davidcycleback
Greg, if yours has the tax stamps that show it's from the Mayo card period, that will only enhance it's value. There's little question that a collector would pay more for the one with correct tax stamps over those with none-- and I'm sure a plethora are missing any tax stamps, correct era or not.
