The Rose Co. blank postcard - Sold
Posted By: <b>Jerry Spillman</b><p><br><center> <img src="http://www.freewebs.com/trentct/pc-blank.jpg" alt="[linked image]"> </center><br><br><center><h3> The Rose Co. blank postcard </h3></center><br><br><h4><br>Blank Rose Company postcards were sold during and after the time they were being used for the 1908-09 baseball series. Most of these blank postcards were acquired to overprint commercial and/or greeting messages by the buyers.<br><br>In 1909 photos with ids of players of the Springfield, Mass. baseball team were glued on the appropriate area of 13 of these blank postcards. Seven of them were autographed by the player pictured on the postcard. The cards were given as a presentation in May of 1909 to Mr. & Mrs. John Edgar, the team benefactors and owners of the Russell Hotel, Springfield, Mass. </h4><br><br><center> <img src="http://www.freewebs.com/trentct/bbpc1a1.jpg" alt="[linked image]"> </center><br><br><center><h4><br><br>The postcard of Russell Cafe is shown for reference only.<br><br></h4></center><br>
