Dusty Baker Retires

As much as I hate the Astros (you all saw my rant), I love Dusty Baker. He was the one good thing about them.

I didn't like Barry Bonds or the Giants. I'm not sure why, but as a teenager I just vibed with the Angel's Rally Monkey so much more in 2002.

But once Dusty Baker left I have rooted for him and his teams everywhere else. Last year I was very conflicted about rooting for the Astros, but I was happy for him finally summitting the mountain.

There were plenty of Baker haters when he was on the Reds, but at least I could say this: we were making the playoffs! I haven't really been able to say that since he left.

I'm saddened to lose him and Terry Francona.

Could not agree more, sir.

For a guy who first was called up in September of 1968, he has more than made a huge mark on the game. I am sure he will continue to work behind the scenes somewhere as the game runs in his blood...he is a example of dedication and perseverance to a true calling. As previously said, a class act.
