Gentlemen,

I just picked this up and I know, despite Wilder's Studio being located in Maywood, IL which is just over ten miles outside of Chicago, this is not a Chicago Cubs player. The "C" seems to favor the Cincinnati Reds, but this gentleman could have also been a minor league player. Feel free to chip in with your serious opinion.

I am fairly confident that it's a ballplayer from the University of Chicago.

The logo is a dead-on match: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_Maroons

Tom,

Thank you. Now, just have to confirm the collar in the uniform.

U of C

I did a quick search here:

http://photoarchive.lib.uchicago.edu...se=browse5.xml

if you scroll down you can see the different teams by years starting in 1893 for the University of Chicago. I clicked on some random years and don't see players in a uniform with the C logo on it. I my brief search, the uniforms say "Chicago" on them.

You might want to take a closer look.

Short distance from Chicago

For what it's worth, Maywood, IL is only 11.8 miles from Chicago.

Patrick,

Thank you. I rounded the distance down to just over ten miles in my statement.
