Honus Wagner 1909-11 Batting Baseball Caramel

Does anyone else think this graded card doesn't look right?

I can see why you would question it and wish they would provide a back scan. I would guess it is an E90-1 based on the coloring. While most are much lighter, I've found some of the E90-1 do get that really dark, very shadowy appearance to them. Here's another example of dark one and normal for comparison.

Leon, yes.

Top left corner looks close to square, other three corners look worn like an E90-1 would be expected to look. The left margin doesn't look exactly straight to me. The squared top left corner minimizes how noticeable that is. Maybe the card isn't laying totally flat in that holder, or maybe it was slightly trimmed once upon a time.

The dark shadowy effect below the crotch and haloing Hans' ballcap seem unusually excessive. Moreso than I recall on other Wagner E90-1s, E102s, and such. The red is slightly darker than I've usually seen, but that's not a flag to me; similarly, the red is out of register, slightly too low.

Looks to me like a fake made to look old. I wouldn't buy it

I vote no, but a better picture might make me change my mind.

80’s aged reprint.

As others mentioned, it would be nice to see better scans. My first impression was that it was a reprint still might be correct, but I am intrigued by the misalignment of red background color as seen on top and bottom of the card...the reprints I have seen are more normally aligned.

I agree with this. These cards often have serious color shifts and/or registration issues. I find it interesting that the ebay example has significant color shifts -- wouldn't a reprint try to "color in the lines"? That said, the picture is horrible and nearly impossible to tell anything by. But my gut is fake- just looks off but need better scans.

Meanwhile, the entire listing reeks of bad news: (i) what/who is that "grading company", (ii) no back scan, (iii) horrible front scan, (iv) calling a T card in description but E card in title, and (v) the seller has nominal feedback.

I see no reason to take a chance on this

For the record, that grading company sets up at the Dallas Card Show but is otherwise not affiliated with them. I have, in-person, seen at least one poor fake in that companies holders, in the last year.

Looks like a "Desmond" here's another Wagner that sold on ebay in 2017 when Desmond was making all the fake T213-1's and T206's it's very similar to the one on ebay now.

Not a fan of the wear, paper, or registry. I would walk on by at any price.
